MINTAH ESCAPE RESIDENCE

Tse-Addo, Accra, 2019

This multi-level, multi-family residence addresses the traditional concern of extended family living interpreted through the lenses of a contemporary, modernist, and yet culturally identifiable architectural approach.

The design allows for a deep appreciation of the space by all the different age categories of the users of the home.

GENVIVA CLOSE

Mariville Estate-Accra, 2017

These townhouses located within a fast-growing residential suburb of Accra are an intelligent configuration of spaces for a small family dwelling with ample garden/ parking space. The Geneviva per is a contemporary intelligent building with high considerations for functionality, ergonomics, aesthetics, greens, and safety while inviting a strong sense of community and togetherness.

LA CASCADE Teshie, 2024

A place-based response to layered terrace facade architecture where the slab is projected alternatively at various levels and acts as a terrace for the floor below to enhance the natural Ventilation. Minimal heat is transferred from the building exterior to the Interior and adequately designed to provide optimal thermal, wind, and Acoustical/sound insulation. Improves temperature control in the building. The concept uses five principles – inside and outside, layers and terraces, vegetation & architecture, outdoor views & privacy, and light & identity

THE RAYBOW BIRAGO Takoradi, 2011

Completed in 2011 and situated in the heart of a fast-evolving metropolitan harbor town- Takoradi, the raybow Birago restaurant building unites the towering modernist residential accommodation units surrounding the open court of the Raybow International Hotel. The earth-tone finish expression emphasized with the traditional symbols engraved on both internal and external facades creates a cultural and relatable experience for the multiple users of the restaurant. The noticeable capsized- canoe forms a detached roof connected via a series of reinforced concrete beams revealing a distinct character of place.

CHURCH ON THE HILL Atomic Hill- Ashongman, 2019

The project of the Jesuit ‘Church of Visitation’ is conceptualized as an ode to a loving mother after her passing.

The merge of the building forms and functions within the natural landscape is emphasized by the bold character communicated through the rammed-earth façade finish. The adinkra symbols ‘NYAMI NTI’ and ‘NYAME DUA’ encapsulate evocative messages that convey the traditional wisdom of the church.

EARTHYRIA FACTORY Kasoa, 2024

Incorporating the rich architectural heritage of northern Ghana, this innovative form features a striking design crafted partly from rammed earth materials. The curved nature of the building echoes traditional African forms, while abstractly mirroring the company's logo, seamlessly blending cultural inspiration with corporate identity.

Using rammed earth pays homage to indigenous construction techniques and promotes sustainability and thermal efficiency.

The structure's organic curves and earthy tones create a harmonious and inviting industrial space, marrying tradition with modern functionality. This factory stands as a testament to the beauty of cultural integration in contemporary architecture.

The sports hotel is inspired by the Ghanaian footballer's movements during a game and fortified with natural elements and a playful approach to design.

LE CAILOU Tema, 2019

This small chapel features a striking concrete façade, showcasing a minimalist and contemporary aesthetic. The raw, textured surface of the concrete gives the structure a timeless quality while maintaining a modern appeal. The chapel’s design focuses on simplicity, with clean lines and geometric forms that emphasize its serene and contemplative purpose.

THE AKOMA HOUSE OF REFUGE Tema, 2019

An unique expression of the traditional courtyard that enriches the indoor spaces and reflects an openness that is key to the theme of this builidng. Complementing this is a green roof feature, serving as a breakout area. Wooden slats envelop the façade, creating a distinctive yet elegant appearance that allows natural light while maintaining a simple, refined exterior.

THE OA Tema, 2020

The OA design is an interpretation of the transitional style of architecture which conveys a blend of traditional and modern elements to create a warm, inviting, and timeless feel. Large façade windows with wide balcony shading and integrated greenery within and outside the buildings ensure comfortable, cohesive, and functionally stylish spaces in an understated way.
